We don't have a basement. Our living room is kind of a walk-out basement, so there were some cement walls to cling to, but I wasn't feeling confident of them staving off a tornado.

Nobody in our town got a direct hit -- but I had mail from a far off town in my yard.

Oh, and Rich was on the road on his way home.

The funnels were not near my home, they were OVER my home -- lots of wind and strong debris -- thank god they did not connect to the ground.kimhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07393608709089617036noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18567889.post-25928003014576832492008-06-09T21:21:00.000-04:002008-06-09T21:21:00.000-04:00we need the rain here, and the sky fits my mood..a...we need the rain here, and the sky fits my mood..awesome pics.. Everyone was hustled into the back chambers or other safe areas and we were locked down for over an hour. The girls tried on every cute outfit in the store while rich and I go go danced in the dressing room -- much to winnie's dismay. And while we were cucumbers on the outside -- rich had the radar displayed on his cell phone and we the x that marked our spot was in the purple part of the storm. There was no purple on the key of severity -- it only went up to red -- we were inside the purple which was inside the red! I was glad I couldn't see what was going on out there.kimhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07393608709089617036noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18567889.post-56974833198858672312008-06-09T15:55:00.000-04:002008-06-09T15:55:00.000-04:00an those are amazing!! and crazy scary. i hope yo...an those are amazing!! and crazy scary. i hope you got in the bathtub with that one coming!kayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07769494885540871232noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18567889.post-45351763437020635502008-06-09T14:16:00.000-04:002008-06-09T14:16:00.000-04:00Good to see you were in the passengers' seat. :)I ...Good to see you were in the passengers' seat. :)I get in trouble when my wife finds pictures on the memory card that were taken through the windshield of my car...Matthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17452291026102177415noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18567889.post-62308296113989167102008-06-09T09:38:00.000-04:002008-06-09T09:38:00.000-04:00melek -- before I even got a chance to take yard w...melek -- before I even got a chance to take yard work photos, everything is getting washed out!
