My kitchen is mocking me

Remember Stephing King's Christine? That car, no matter how anyone tried to destroy it -- it repaired itself again, and again and again -- infinity.

My kitchen is like the reverse of that -- no matter how perfectly I put her back together, she just gets wrecked again and again, plus infinity.

I hate that.

I feel the same way about my bathroom counter...I can wipe it down and make it sparkle and everything gets put away..then well. Honey hits it. He will a) shave or b)dip (gross I know). And it has to be redone all over again.

I used to have with a roomate who had short, curly hair and it would stick to the grout.

The thing was, we each had our own bathrooms and I forbade him to comb his hair in mine anymore, but it didn't work. It was in the days of the "box cut" and he couldn't walk past a mirror without patting at his hair and making sure it stayed at it's boxiest = lots of grout hairs.

They did look like the hair down there, but tiny ...and they stuck in the grout.

And yes, male roommate. Things got really fun when my sister started dating him and practically lived with us sans rent payments, aaaaand, and and and they GANGED UP ON ME. In my own house! where one of them was not paying rent and was my sibling.

Yeah, that was fun. That was my first apartment -- it was me and two guys. We worked together and got an apartment together the second we were all 18. The first guy bailed when he found out there were bills in addition to rent money. I turned my share of the rent over to my sister after the first year was up.

We laugh now, but back in the day it was pretty Jerry Springer.

My bathroom is TOTALLY like that. I swear it stays clean for like two minutes before it's all messy again.
