Proud moments
When I correct my kids, often times they take themselves way too seriously and a small bicker fest ensues. I get worried -- maybe they won't ever learn to take their lumps, never develop the ability to make it on the mean streets.
This week Winnie has been on a sassy streak. I don't remember which particular prompted her to talk to me like I was so stupid this time, but I asked, "Gee Winnie, how do you live with such a stupid mom?"
She said, "I manage."
I was so proud.

They'll think you're the dumbest of the dumb for years and years, then one day a long time from now they'll begin to marvel at your brilliance and wisdom and strength. Just hang in there. :)
