Too much coffee turns me into a compulsive computer checker

I'm figuring this out tonight. I'm missing that hurricane alien show right now (can't think when I'm over caffeinated either).

I have made the rounds on my favorite bloggers a gazillion times tonight. All I have to do it mouse over the names over there on the right and it tells me if they posted or not, but I still keep clicking -- nope, no new post.

What the heck?

I'm only posting now so there will be something that has changed since the last twenty times I've entered the blog world tonight.

Surf something new? That wouldn't be near as compulsive as checking the same thing over and over.

How will I ever sleep tonight -- I'm so caffeinated. That's what I get for cutting back, I used to be immune to the stimulant effects of caffine.

boredom turns me into a compulsive computer checker. i have all my blogs under one bookmark folder, and about 10 times a day, i'll select, OPEN IN TABS so they all pop up and i can read one while the other loads. you know what i'm REALLY addicted to? Craig's list missed connections. or just CL in general. i think i just get bored working at home by myself and i see reading those as having some kind of contact with humans.....

You're not the first I've read of who is addicted to CL. I'd better stay away.

I'm no stranger to compulsive shecking, but last night was more than popping in because I'm near the computer. I was absent mindedly showing up at the computer and checking.

Need a glass of water? better check the computer. Going to the bathroom? Better check the computer.

Only no thinking, "better check" -- I just kind of wound up here instead of the original destination. What am I doing here again? Wasn't I just here?

...What am I doing again?

Less coffee today.

I do the same thing. I sit here and click on my yahoo groups, check out my fave blogs, leave comments, go back to comcast email, check those, yada yada yada... it's a never-ending addiction I cannot control.

However, I do find that if I DON'T turn on the computer first thing in the morning, I am so much more productive.

Me, I go to political blogs and start arguments. Kinda easy I know but, what the hell, it's my thing.
