Wisconsin State Capital Feild Trip
The Capital Building pictures were taken with the little camera.
The light in that building is something else, not to mention --holy gilded building batman!
The reddish picture in the middle is of the Governor's conference room -- that's Winnie in the Governor's chair.

all that gleaming wood and glass....BEAUTIFUL!!!!
Hi Beth!
Insane detail in this building.
Great ceiling - but my absolute favourite is the tenth shot with the diagonal theme.
What an amazing building. Your pictures make me wish I could come see it with you, through your lens. :)
what a cool building!
they just don't make them like they used to. sad.
Baby girl would love a gilded house, because baby girl's a queen!
Cecily -- I would love to be your tour guide.
Kay -- I never knew and I've seen it from the outside many times...
Thanks David -- I loved those stairs -- they were tucked away from all the flash.
Ooooh, very, very pretty!
How fun! We just did our State Capital Field Trip too!! Woo Hoo!!
Wow. That is some architecture! Looks very European, somehow. I'd love to find out how old it is.
wordtryst -- I thought Gilded age (187? to 1889) for sure, but actually it was an ongoing project for years and years. The final architect, I think started the expansion in there, or just after (progressive era) -- he died before it was finished in 1917.
Here's a timeline:

As a painter, and not including the murals -- just from the straight colored details standpoint...looking at it in person, wow, so much detail.
